Shop permits being 1-use makes me feel wasteful if I need to adjust a price after I set up the shop, even if it's only 1 LSP lost. I'm always afraid to set up shops as a result, so I've almost never done it since the launch of LSMS. I can guarantee that I'd be using shops a lot more if we had permanent permits like we did in NSMS.
Maybe price at ~50 LSP for a permanent permit, while retaining the 1 LSP option for a 1-use permit.

Interesting point that it's discouraged you from opening shop. How were they used in the originally? If permanent shops were available, what prompted people to buy temporary 1-use permits?

Anecdote: I at first thought the 1-use permit was a 1-day permit, and was surprised when I bought one and it poofed

Interesting point that it's discouraged you from opening shop. How were they used in the originally? If permanent shops were available, what prompted people to buy temporary 1-use permits? In original NSMS, you could just set up your shop any time you went AFK, whether you're off having lunch or going to bed for the night. We saw a lot more use of shops due to their permanency, people could adjust their prices in the shop shortly after opening it if they made a mistake in pricing, and they even had their own novelty by "flinging" people back to the FM entry portal when a shop closed while someone else was looking at it. I remember having quite a bit of fun with that back in the day. I think the only reason why someone might still want a 1-use permit option is if they're new and don't have enough LSP to purchase a permanent one, but still want to sell something overnight. However, seeing how infrequently the shops are used in LSMS despite this, I don't think it'd be worth keeping 1-use permits if it's mechanically easier to just replace them with permanent ones. As a regular player it's definitely more worthwhile to get a permanent one regardless, and I think 50 LSP is a fair price for one that doesn't entirely fall into pay2win territory. Another point that I'd like to make is that, seeing how the server is restarted on an almost daily basis, should one be entitled to a reimbursement if one sets up their 1-use shop before a server restart is announced? One can't expect to keep their shop up over several days due to the frequent restarts, and I feel like making shops permanent or at least providing a permanent option would be a fair workaround to this situation.

Also with my new squid selling expenditures, I can only fit 16 slots worth of items in a single shop at a given time. I am using multiple permits in a day to restock my shop which is entirely not worth it. I would much rather have a permanent permit if I'm selling all of my squid this quickly...
