Recently, some strange sightings have been reported, pointing to alarm. LightSoulMS has enjoyed relative peace due to the efforts to keep monsters at bay, but recent events are pointing to a new battle brewing on the horizon.
"At first I mistook it for a wandering cold eye," relates the owner of the 24-Hr Mobile Shop. "But when I looked more closely, I realized that no. that isn't a cold eye at all. Its eyes were pure darkness. Sent shivers up my spine...I closed up shop right away."
Alfonse Green, a resident of Orbis, was in Cloud Park when the creature was sighted. "I was just watching the clouds float by, as I usually do in the park. I thought the clouds were playing tricks on me. It was white -- pure white, like the clouds, but...it was...alive. I think? Maybe a ghost? It wasn't nice and fluffy that's for sure. I ran away as fast as I could."
The topic is going wild on social media. Tweeter and GhostBook discussions vary from photo-shopping images to theorizing a relation to the spike in pre-roll sales from Kerning City lately. iSoPro, well known on Tick-Tock for documenting his journey as a PermaBeginner was on live filming himself hit his goal of level 30 with no deaths when his moment of truth was interrupted by a stark white drake. He has not been seen since.
So a common thread remains: the newly sighted creatures are white in colour, have black hollow eyes, and are emotionless and cold. They've quickly been deemed the name "Soulless Monsters", the new hashtag climbing to 20k chirps just overnight.
Dr. Betty, a local scientist, has spent years studying monsters on Victoria Island and how they've changed throughout history. We asked for her expertise on the matter.
"Unfortunately, I haven't personally come across one of these 'soulless monsters'," she responded. "So I am just comparing local reports with historical data. What I think may have happened is similar to the zombie mushrooms in the Ant Tunnel."
Being that one of the sightings is in fact a white, or soulless mushroom, Dr. Betty referred us to Bruce, a colleague based out in the town of Henesys.
"What Dr. Betty says is just the start of our investigation," says Bruce. "Of course, we don't have the data to prove it -- I haven't even been able to get samples yet -- but it's not impossible. We don't know how or why, but somehow this mushroom has just become devoid of all we are familiar with in a normal mushroom."
Regardless of why, the inevitable still stands. There is a new wave of monsters coming, and those strong enough to fight back these invaders will find reward for their efforts. Are you one of them?
