InfoJanuary 23th is National Handwriting Day.This event commemorates the formality of handwritings and the joy of utilizing a writing utensil. Signature event on LightSoulMS is all about creating your very own signature through different mediums and awaken your inner-artist. Whether your style is cursive, graffiti, water color, sand painting, you name it! As long as it's your work by your own hands and all conditions are met, we'll honor it! When the event is finished, the staffs will vote on the winners. All submissions will be posted to our Facebook page. Submission Requisites- Screenshot of your character in-game.
- Picture of your signature through your desired medium.
- Optional: describe your process (what you did, what inspired you, etc.)
Conditions- The signature must express and represent your in-game name.
- The signature must be handwritten in real-life and taken a picture of, i.e. tablets and drawing on the computer is not allowed.
- "LightSoulMS" must also be written somewhere in the signature picture.
- Only 1 submission is allowed per user.
- If I like your post it means that your submission is qualified (and that I also like it)

I hope my horrible handwriting can induce others to try to make a better job :'D (should I impersonate Squidward and say that my art is marvellous?)   My signature was written on a Chinese calligraphy practice scroll using water，and it started to vanish as soon as I let go of the brush. ![]() |

  Despite being a simple signature in terms of execution, most of it's weight comes from the idea behind it. The name of my character is Tewi, which is based on the character "Inaba Tewi" from the Touhou Project series The name "Tewi" is composed of the hiragana て (te) and the archaic hiranaga ゐ (wi) which on the signature have both been rotated. The reason for this specific rotation and placement of the characters is a result of basing the signature on the Japanese folk tale of the White Hare of Inaba, which is the basis for her character. The most popular depiction of this tale is of a Hare jumping on the back of crocodiles/sharks* as the hare challenged them to see whose clan is bigger, that of the sea animals or that of the hares. So as a means to count the amount of sharks the clan had, they lined up and the hare jumped on the back of each one, counting up as it went. *There exist several depictions of the tale using Aligators and Sharks The big catch is that the Hare's true objective was to travel from the Island of Oki to Cape Keta, and it tricked the sharks to become it's bridge. So as you can see on the signature, the rotated "て" becomes the fin of a shark and the rotated "ゐ" becomes the trajectory of it's hops, which is rather eccentric but Tewi herself is a very playful character so it ultimately becomes fitting of her image. The last thing I added was a little drawing of a rabbit on the end of the "ゐ" to further emphasize that it's a trajectory, as well as to represent a period to portray that portion of the signature as “the end”, that being “the end of the motion” and “the end of the signature". But actually mostly because it's cute. |

When I was in high school many years ago, I used to have some gel pens and a ruled notebook that was actually made of black paper. I don't remember where exactly I got that stuff from, but it was pretty cool and some people had signed it on my senior year.
I wanted to do the signature using the same medium, but I didn't have it anymore. The first time I bought a set of gel pens, however, they were the wrong kind and wouldn't write visibly on black at all. So I needed to get a different kind that would actually show up.
Anyway, I like the way it came out. It's written in my best cursive, and I'd like to think that if Maeriwyn ever existed, that's how she would write a fancy signature.
